"Ah Summer! The countryside was beautiful.  The wheat was golden yellow, the oats were green and the hay was all stacked down in the grassy meadow.  A mother duck was sitting on her eggs waiting for her ducklings to hatch." A poignant retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's sad but true story about a little swan trying to fit in with all the other ducks in the pond.  Dance lends gracefully to the mixture of puppets, live acting, music and slides, forming a collage impression of the longing, the sadness, the harsh winter and the cruelty of others.  But in the end all is well as our little Ugly Duckling finds her true family of swans.
