LYRICS to SONGS

Opening Music by Jim La Marche
Narrator: John O'Leary

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Elizabeth who lived with her mother in a house on the edge of the village. She was loved by all but was especially dear to her grandmother, who loved her more than anyone in the world. Grandma made a beautiful red cloak and give it to Elizabeth for her 8th birthday. The cloak was so pretty that Elizabeth wore it every day and this is how she became Little Red Riding Hood.

*******************

It's a beautiful day. The cat had kittens and grandma will be so happy to know. She had five little kittens, all white except one, he has a speckled nose and he's all white with two black feet. That's the one I'm going to keep because it's my favourite. It's all true and I'm going to Grandma's now.....to have some lunch...

GOING TO GRANDMA'S
written and arranged by Jody Terio
sung by Jody Terio

I'm going to Grandma's to have some lunch in the afternoon.
On a beautifully sunny day.
I'm going to Grandma's to have some lunch in the afternoon
On a beautifully sunny day.
I'm bringing my grandma some food to eat.
She'll be so hungry when we meet.
I'll tell her about my new little kittens
I'll bring her some pictures to put in her kitchen.
And she'll be so happy to see me.
And I'll be so happy to see her.

Look at all the flowers.... over there
There's red and pink and yellow ones over there.
But Mama said, don't step off the path, little red.
la la la la la....
Look at all the flowers in the trees
There's red and orange and white ones in the trees
But mama said, don't step off the path, little red.
I'm going to Grandma's to have some lunch.
And she'll be so happy to see me.
And I'll be so happy to see her.
La la, la....

WOLF RAP
written and arranged by John O'Leary
sung by John O'Leary

I am the wolf! I am the big bad wolf!
I am the baddest wolf in the land
And I like to groove when I get hungry.
I like to groove it with my funky meal plan.
The name is Hood
This Mama's good
For six or seven meals at the very least
As Little Red will see me fed
as guest of honour at my special feast.
Little Red Riding Food
Get it in your neighbourhood.
Nothin' like Little Red
Findin' me in Granny's bed.
Yo, Yo. What's good in the hood tonight?
I got a recipe book to make Hood Delight.
We got Roast Hood, rack of Little Red
Hood's Red Hot Dogs instead
C'est Hood Dijon or Hood a L'orange
In French that's mange, mange, mange
I'll mange her ears and chomp on her toes
But I will start with the nose.
Which don't you know is ripe for the pickin!
This chick is sho finger lickin!
Please Ma'am, gimmee toe jam
Or else I'll eat your whole family, see,
That how its gonna be.
'Cause Granny's sweet and Granny is fine
But Granny's best served with Beaujolais wine!
Little Red Riding Food
Get it in your neighbourhood
Nothin' like Little Red
Findin' me in Granny's bed.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD:
Grandma, are you there?

WOLF:
Is that you Little Red Riding Hood?

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD:
Yes, grandma dear, I brought you some raspberry pie. Can I come in?

WOLF:
Well, the door is unlocked so just come in my dear. I'm feeling much too weak to get out of bed.

MY WHAT BIG EYES YOU HAVE!
written by Robert McCarrol
arranged by Jeremy Edwardes
sung by Robert McCarrol and Jody Terio

Little Red: Grandma, my what big eyes you have

Wolf: My dear, the better to see you with
How clear, I can now see you with
These big beautiful eyes of mine
I can see you just fine
So glad that you're mine
So come give me a kiss
Please, just a little kiss

Little Red: Grandma, what hairy ears you've grown

Wolf: My dear, the better to hear you with
How clear, I can now hear you with
I just haven't shaved today
I'm slightly depraved today
And everything's okay today
So come here and give me a kiss
Please just a little kiss

Little Red: (spoken) Uh... how bout a hug. I've got this flu thing (cough cough)
(sung)Grandma, my what strange hands you have.

Wolf: My dear the better to hold you with
My dear come let me enfold you with
I haven't clipped my nails
Do you know what that entails
And I'm feeling slightly frail
So now just give me a kiss
Would you hurry up and give me a kiss?

Little Red: Grandma, now that we're alone
Can I tell you something secret?
I met a wolf in the wood
And he seemed very good
Nothing like what I've heard about wolves

Wolf: Child, don't always believe what you hear
I will tell you something secret
Wolves are misunderstood
They are really very good
They are loving, warm, soft, gentle, sensitive, harmless, giving, furry, funny, kind, charming, furry, funny, intelligent,...

Little Red: (Spoken) I get the point.

Wolf: (spoken) Good.

Little Red: Grandma, my what sharp teeth you have

Wolf: My dear the better to eat you with
How sweet I can just eat you with

Little Red: (spoken)EAT?

Wolf: Yum!

HUNTING SONG:
written by Jody Terio
arranged by Jeremy Edwards
sung by Robert McCarrol

A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a fox, put him in a box
And then we'll let him go.
(speaking)It doesn't have to be a fox I guess. I guess I could do with a partridge if I have to.
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a partridge, put him in a box...
(speaking)Partridge doesn't rhyme with box.
Fox rhymes with box.
What does partridge rhyme with? Cartridge. Okay.
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a partridge, put him in a cartridge
and then we'll let him go.
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a bear and brush her hair.
And then we'll let her go.
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a snake on a rake
And then we'll let him go.
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a goose and put her in a noose
And then we'll let her go.
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a duck and wish it luck
And then we'll let him go.
A hunting we will go, a nunting we will go
We'll catch a dog, trap it in a log
And then we'll let it go.
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a wolf and put him in a .....
(Speaking)What rhymes with wolf?

IF YOU PUT YOUR TRUST IN STRANGERS
written and arranged by Jody Terio
sung by Jody Terio

If you put your trust in strangers
You are sure to be surprised.
What they tell you may be lovely
What they tell you may be lies.
Well you must be nice to strangers.
Its good manners to be so,
But it's very necessary
To be wary don't you know.
Can you trust them when they tell you
That they want to be your friend?
They could turn and deceive you in the end.
Can you tell if someone loves you
when you open up the door?
Can you tell if someone cares
When you've never met before?
How can you know their motives
when you've just met on the road?
How can you know if what they say is gold?
Can you know if what they say is gold?
