Theatre, the imagined and enacted work of human beings, is one of the primary ways children learn about life - about actions and consequences, about customs and beliefs, and about others and themselves SPONSORSHIPS: THANK YOU TO SPONSORS FOR OUR 09/10 TOURING SEASON Little Red Theatre invites you and/or your organization to participate in our Sponsorship of the Arts Program which brings educational enrichment of theatre arts to a beacon school near you. The Little Red Theatre Sponsorship of the Arts pairs corporate sponsors with schools that have been identified as having fewer 'learning opportunities’ in the arts. It is a cost-sharing program that helps teachers in low income schools introduce their students to the dramatic arts, inspire their academic success, and help them learn self-expression. The Little Red Theatre Sponsorship of the Arts places original theatrical productions in low-income schools with the intent of stimulating creative potential and educational opportunity for children ages 4 - 12 years. We would be very happy to discuss the possibilities available to your organization in sponsoring arts and learning opportunities to needy kids through this program. Please see the details of participation in the attached program description. Our registered charity number is #12971 4234 RR0001. Call us with your questions. Yours truly, Jody Terio Artistic Director A list of Sponsors in the school year of 2007-08 Toronto Dominion Bank Every year since 1988, Little Red Theatre provides original theatre performances to more than 50,000 delighted school kids in Ontario every year. For many of these children, a Little Red Theatre performance has been their first, and perhaps their only, experience of the dramatic arts. As a touring theatre company, we have visited hundreds of schools, helping teachers enrich their arts programs and helping students derive the profound benefits available from arts education. Little Red Theatre is a non-profit organization and a registered charity. Our plays are provided to schools at a not-for-profit cost. Each performance uses professional actors, custom-designed sets, costumes and props and often an original musical score. In addition to our dedication to professional production values, Little Red Theatre provides each school or class with an extensive study guide package. The study guide contains background information on the cultural and educational aspects of the scheduled performance. Teachers use the study guide in lesson planning to prepare their students to get the most out of the Little Red Theatre visit to their school. Why Sponsorship is needed Research has shown that the 'benefits of integrating arts into education have a positive and direct impact on the academic and emotional well-being of young students.' Costs Per Show V.S. Low Budgets of School * performers' salaries What we need from you... Little Red Theatre's Sponsorship Program is cost-shared equally between host schools and corporate sponsors. Little Red Theatre determines which schools need support the most from school board indices of 'Learning Opportunities'. This data compiles a list of the neediest schools from each board based on criteria such as: *average family income and ability to fundraise ****And, of course, each sponsorship receives a charitable tax receipt.**** Timeline Performances are booked during the school year, from September to
May. Sponsorship Recognition Opportunities Little Red Theatre would very much like to thank sponsors of this important program and your name will appear on ALL public programs for the year.
